Safety Policy
|
It is the policy of AAA Cooper Transportation to maintain a safe work environment throughout our system. The primary
goal of our program is to prevent accidents, incidents, illnesses, and injuries
and to fulfill our moral obligation to protect the general public. By doing so,
the employees of the company and the general public will be best served.
Unsafe acts or working conditions create unnecessary hazards to the health and well being of our people, our
customers, and to the good name of the company. AAA Cooper Transportation therefore commits
itself and its resources to these ends:
- Provide
safe and healthful working conditions.
- Maintain
all company equipment and facilities in good and safe order.
- Correct
any and all conditions that could lead to an accident or injury.
- Provide
on going safety training to all employees.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws or
regulations related to safety.
To these ends, I commit all of the
resources of AAA Cooper Transportation, including the best efforts of all our employees.

SATISFACTORY. As a result of our efforts, we consistently maintain a satisfactory safety rating from the U.S. Department of Transportation; their highest ranking. Our commitment to safety assures you of the best possible service.

Training
Safety is a core value at AAA Cooper Transportation. Our excellent safety
record attests to that fact. Our employees are courteous and well trained. Our
equipment is modern and well maintained. Thousands of hours of safety,
maintenance, and operational training per year ensure uninterrupted, error-free
service. It all starts with a comprehensive orientation program for our
employees that addresses the following issues:

Excluded Hazardous Materials
AAA Cooper Transportation provides transportation
services for all classes of hazardous material with the exception of:
- 1.1,1.2, 1.3, and 1.5 Explosives
- Nitrocellulose
- 2.3 Poison Gas Zone A
- 2.3 Poison Gas Zone B in bulk packaging
- 6.1 Poison Inhalation Hazard Zone A
- Radioactive Yellow III materials
- Shipments requiring a Waste Manifest

Hazardous Materials training
We are in compliance with
all federal, state, and local regulations that apply to hazardous materials
transportation. This includes training for all employees involved in the
transportation process. Training is provided to sales personnel, line
haul and P and D drivers, dockworkers, OS'D clerks, billing clerks, terminal
supervision staff, and terminal management personnel.
The training provided meets the
training requirements as specified in 49 CFR Part 172 Subpart H-Training. This includes:
- General awareness/familiarization training
- Function-specific training
- Safety training
- Security Awareness Training
- Modal-specific training
- Testing on this material
We are also a current member of CHEMTREC.
